Geocaching on School Grounds

Despite having guidelines in place for the placement of geocaches, it isn’t uncommon for some geocaches that are against guidelines to slip through the cracks.  Some might be questionably against guidelines to begin with.  Some might be okay and it’s up to intepretation.  Some just flat should never be placed.  Caches on school grounds is one of them.  And lately, I’ve seen a few that slipped through the cracks.

Geocaching 12 of 12 & an event

This last weekend, I drove up North to attend the 6th Annual Kearney Picnic. This picnic is the event of events for Nebraska. Located at Ft. Kearney State Park, the event is an all day social gathering with buffered by camping. With the event on 9/12/09, it was perfect timing for another online event called a 12 of 12.

2 Milestones Reached

What has it been…about six weeks since I last posted anything more than a quick update. Let’s try and fix that. Some things have been going on and it’s time to start getting back to posting about my adventures.

Heading to NSP

Well, it’s about 3:44 AM. I’m sitting in 8601’s apartment. While it is early in the morning, I have been slowly adjusting my sleeping schedule in preparation for the NEBRASKA STAR PARTY that I have talked about in a few previous posts. Because of where I’ll be, I might not get much of an opportunity to post anything on here for a while. I’ll try to stop at the local library to provide an update or two but no larger posts are planned.

Now to get some sleep as I need to be up in about two hours to get ready to leave. I need to be in Grand Island by 9:00 AM for an event cache and it’s about 2 – 2.5 hours, and I’m going to grab a few caches along the way.

My First Earthcache Approved

This afternoon, just before leaving home, I received an e-mail that my first Earthcache was approved and awaiting adoption. I was happy to see it come through before I left town for my upcoming trip. Read on for some more details and the link.
