Nebraska Star Party

Well before I got into geocaching, I picked up the lost art of astronomy. Once you understand some basics about astronomy and how to use a telescope, it’s amazing some of the views you can see. You can see things so distant it boggles your mind that you are looking at them. And things so beautiful to render many people speechless. Careful About Hiding That Container

Recently, I posted about some locations that cachers should be real careful about hiding caches near, and some that should be flat avoided. Now, let’s talk about how containers can affect the safety of a cache location. While not all of these containers are bad, some are bad containers to put out in certain locations.

Don’t Hide Here

Recently, JadeFalcon and I passed up on a cache that we had serious qualms about trying to find. The cache was within 10 – 20 feet of an elementary school classroom window. The FTF’er already had a run in with school officials since the school is actively being used. As a teacher and geocacher, I personally contacted the owner with the suggestion that they archive it before it causes any serious problems (aka: police). It has since been archived by the owner.
